To submit a claim, use the claims form linked directly in the policy in your Feather account. We handle all claims and will review your submission. Once approved, we pay out the claim. If a pre-existing condition exclusion was applied to your policy at underwriting, claims related to that condition will not be reimbursed.

How do I submit a claim?

To submit a claim, use the claims form linked directly from your Feather account. The form guides you through the information required to process your claim. You can access the claims form at any time from within your Feather account.

How do we process your claim?

Once we receive your claim, we review it against the terms of your policy. We take the following into account:

  • Coverage: whether the treatment or service is covered under your plan (Essential or Plus).

  • Geography: whether the treatment took place in a covered location β€” your destination country, or within the 180-day worldwide allowance, or within the 60-day US allowance.

  • Exclusions: whether any exclusions apply to your policy β€” for example, exclusions related to pre-existing conditions agreed at underwriting.

  • Medical necessity: whether the treatment was medically necessary rather than elective or cosmetic.

  • Documentation: whether the submitted invoices and supporting documents are complete and valid.

  • Deductible: whether your annual deductible has already been met for the calendar year. If not, the outstanding deductible amount is deducted from the reimbursement.

How does reimbursement work?

Once your claim is approved, we pay out the reimbursement to you directly.

Can a pre-existing condition affect my claim?

Yes. If a specific pre-existing condition was excluded from your policy at the time of underwriting, any claims directly related to that condition will not be reimbursed. The exclusions that apply to your policy are documented in your policy terms and communicated to you before your policy is confirmed.
